Not sure which you need? The roof usually decides. A sloping roof over a loft or a vaulted ceiling takes a roof window. A flat roof over an extension takes a flat rooflight or a lantern. A room with no roof directly above it, such as a landing or an inner bathroom, may suit a sun tunnel.
