What to put in your message
A few details help us come prepared. Say whether the roof is pitched or flat, what is there now (an old roof window, a flat rooflight, or nothing yet), and which room the light is for. If you are replacing a VELUX window, the code on the data plate on top of the sash, at the right, such as MK04, tells us its size straight away.
Photos are the most useful thing you can send: one of the roof from the garden or the street, one of the room, and one of the loft if you can reach it safely. They do not replace the survey, but they let us bring the right ladders and the right questions. If a unit is already misted or the frame has gone, a close-up of it helps us judge whether the glass or the whole rooflight needs replacing. You can attach them over WhatsApp or by email after sending the form.
What the visit involves
We need to see both sides of the roof, so the survey is done with you at home. Expect us to look at the room, go into the loft where there is one, and go up onto the roof where it is safe to do so. Every reading goes on a sheet, and you keep a copy. The full list is on the measured survey page.
The quote follows in writing, with each part of the job on its own line. Our costs page explains what each line covers, and the work is backed by our workmanship guarantee.
Where we can come
We cover Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch and every town and village within 30 road miles, from Swanage and Wareham to Ringwood, Romsey and the southern edge of Salisbury. If you are unsure whether your address is inside the area, the list of areas shows each place by council.
